Porsche recently revealed the new 2025 911 GT3. The updated model features some changes to its exterior, interior, and suspension, while maintaining its powerful naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. US deliveries are set to begin next summer at a starting price of $224,495.
To celebrate 25 years of the iconic GT3, Porsche has introduced the 2025 911 GT3, also known as the 992.2 model. This latest version retains the impressive 502-horsepower, 9,000-rpm naturally aspirated flat-six engine, a signature feature of the GT3. Despite Porsche’s new hybrid powertrain options for the 911, the GT3 continues to rely solely on internal combustion power.
In order to meet stringent emissions standards, the engine now includes two gas-particulate filters and four catalytic converters. To enhance performance, the engine has been upgraded with hotter camshafts from the GT3 RS, new throttle bodies, oil coolers, and revised heads. The manual transmission option now features a shorter final drive to address previous complaints about long gearing in manual Porsches.
Porsche has also incorporated suspension improvements learned from the GT3 RS, such as aerofoil-shaped suspension links for increased front downforce and brake cooling. Wider aerodynamic inlets at the front of the vehicle and tweaks to the diffuser, engine cover lid, and inlets help to balance the increased front downforce. Additionally, new tires have been introduced to enhance wet-weather performance, along with a track-focused tire option.
The GT3 Touring Package, which eliminates the wing for a more understated appearance, is available alongside the standard version. A Leichtbau package is offered for the GT3 Touring, featuring carbon-fiber suspension components, a body-color carbon-fiber roof, magnesium wheels, and a shorter shift lever from the 911 S/T. Inside the vehicle, changes include new carbon-fiber bucket seats with folding backrests, optional heating, and the option to add rear seats in the GT3 Touring model.
Porsche emphasizes that the new GT3 is lightweight, weighing in at 3,130 pounds in its lightest configuration. This weight, combined with its powerful engine and performance upgrades, contributes to the increased starting price of $224,495 compared to previous models.
Despite its higher price tag, the demand for the new 2025 911 GT3 is expected to be significant, given its reputation as the most desirable 911 model. The latest version may not be a radical departure from its predecessor, but the subtle updates and enhancements are sure to appeal to Porsche enthusiasts and fans of high-performance sports cars.
