Rockstar Games has begun the pre-load rollout for the highly anticipated PC version of Red Dead Redemption, giving fans the chance to get ready for the game’s release. The download size for the game via the Rockstar Games Launcher is 9GB, similar to the size of the PS4/PS5 version released last year. Users will also need to download an update for the launcher upon launching it next.
Currently, only the version of Red Dead Redemption for Rockstar’s launcher can be pre-loaded for those who have pre-ordered it. However, the Steam version is now available for pre-load as well, with a slightly smaller size of around 8.3GB. Unfortunately, the Epic Games Store version is not yet available for pre-loading.
The official launch date for Red Dead Redemption on PC is set for October 29th. While Rockstar has not publicly announced a specific time for the release, insider Tez2 has shared that the game is expected to launch at 10am EDT / 2pm GMT based on information found in the Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games Store backend.
For gamers with NVIDIA graphics cards, a new driver has been released to support Red Dead Redemption on PC. The GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 566.03 was made available ahead of the game’s release date, offering day-one support for the best possible gaming experience. The PC version of the game will also support NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution for enhanced visuals.
