So, like, Epic Games totally won this huge legal battle against Apple, you guys! The judge said Apple was, like, totally breaking the rules by being all shady with their pricing and stuff. And now, Fortnite might be coming back to the U.S. App Store next week. How crazy is that?
Anyway, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers was all like, “Apple, you’ve been bad, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” She found Apple guilty of ignoring a court order from 2021 that told them to stop being so greedy with their prices. Like, seriously, Apple, get it together.
Even though Apple won some arguments in court, they totally dropped the ball on one big thing. The judge said they couldn’t charge fees on purchases made outside of the apps, but Apple was all, “Nah, we’re gonna do it anyway.” And that just made things worse. Like, way worse.
So, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney was all excited and announced that Fortnite could be back on the U.S. App Store next week. He even threw out a proposal to Apple, saying they’d drop all the lawsuits if Apple changed their ways. Talk about a power move!
And get this, you guys – the judge even said she might have to bring in the U.S. attorney to look into possible criminal charges against Apple. Like, it’s getting real up in here.
So, yeah, Epic Games is bringing Fortnite back to the U.S. App Store, and Apple might be in some serious trouble. It’s like a real-life soap opera, but with tech companies. Who knew that could be so dramatic?
