Google TV devices are getting an exciting new update that includes custom artificial intelligence (AI) art screensavers. This feature allows users to transform their idle screens into unique pieces of art. Users can even use their own images from Google Photos to create personalized screensavers. Additionally, Google is introducing a new home panel that will serve as a centralized smart home hub.
The new support page for Google TV provides detailed information about this new feature. Typically, screensavers appear on smart TVs after a period of inactivity, displaying wallpapers instead of the home screen. These wallpapers are usually generic stock images. However, with the new AI feature, users can showcase unique art on their screens.
There are three ways to add a custom AI art screensaver. Users can describe the art they want to see, choose from set templates, or select the “Inspire Me” option to have the AI generate random art. If AI images are not preferred, users can also display their favorite pictures from Google Photos, provided they are logged into their Google account. However, users will need to select one or more albums to use as screensavers.
To set up a custom AI art screensaver on your Google TV device, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Google TV home screen and select Settings.
2. Go to System and choose Ambient mode.
3. Select Custom AI Art from the list of screensavers and click on Create New…
4. Choose between Describe your idea, Inspire me, and Suggested templates.
5. After creating a piece of custom AI art, scroll through its variations using the up and down buttons.
6. Save the preferred images to the image library.
7. Add more prompts to generate additional images, then select Set all as screensaver.
In addition to the AI art screensavers, Google TV devices are also receiving updates such as a smart home hub and AI-powered sports page and content overviews. Stay tuned for more updates on Google TV and other tech news by following Gadgets 360 on various platforms.
