Google is now offering a convenient way for drivers to find and reserve parking spots through Google Maps and Search. By partnering with SpotHero, an online parking booking service, users can now easily book parking spaces directly from these apps.

When users search for parking on Google Maps or Search, they will see a “Book Online” button if the parking lot is available for reservation through SpotHero. By tapping on this button, users will be directed to SpotHero’s website where they can securely pay for their parking spot. This seamless integration eliminates the need to switch between different apps or browsers during the booking process.

In addition to on-the-spot bookings, users can also reserve parking spots in advance through SpotHero. The service allows users to filter parking options by date and time, as well as search for facilities with EV charging stations, wheelchair accessibility, and more. While SpotHero has been testing its integration with Google since April, it is now available to all users.

Although the service is expanding, it may not be available in all areas yet. SpotHero currently offers the ability to book 8,000 parking spots in 300 cities across the US and Canada. Some of the prominent locations where SpotHero can be used include Madison Square Garden and the SAP Center.

SpotHero’s integration with Google is part of a trend where the parking service is being featured in more high-profile platforms. For example, Lyft has been offering SpotHero integration since 2022, and recently, SpotHero became available on Apple Maps. Google’s decision to incorporate SpotHero into its apps reflects the company’s efforts to stay competitive in the mapping and search markets.

Overall, this collaboration between Google and SpotHero provides an added level of convenience for drivers looking for parking. With the ability to easily book parking spots through familiar apps like Google Maps and Search, users can save time and hassle when searching for a place to park their vehicles.
