A recent Call of Duty exploit has exposed the RICOCHET anti-cheat system for falsely banning thousands of innocent players. The exploit was shared online by a user known as @zebleerpo, revealing that sending the words “Trigger Bot” to other players could activate RICOCHET and result in unwarranted bans.

Upon learning of the exploit, Activision stated that they had restored accounts for a small number of legitimate players who were affected. However, it remains unclear how many players were falsely banned in total. Popular streamer BobbyPoff was one of the affected players who has since been unbanned after facing weeks of accusations and abuse.

One concerning issue raised by the original poster is that legitimate cheaters may also be unbanned during the account restoration process. This means that real cheaters who were initially caught by RICOCHET may now be back in the game.

RICOCHET has promised to release a new blog post later today detailing the progress of its anti-cheat system. This update may provide more insight into how the system is addressing the false bans and preventing future exploits.
