01 / OVERVIEW

Quantum Computing at TUP

Quantum Computing explores a fundamentally new model of computation. Students study quantum algorithms, error correction and the physics of qubits — with hands-on time on real quantum hardware.

It's a field being written now, and our students help write it.

Frequently asked

Do I need quantum physics first?

We teach the quantum mechanics you need alongside the computing. A comfort with linear algebra is the main prerequisite.

Is there real quantum hardware?

Yes — the Quantum Computing Lab houses a 128-qubit system students use for experiments.

Is quantum computing useful today?

For specific problems, yes — and the field is moving fast. You'll work on both near-term and fault-tolerant approaches.
