GameSir has introduced the new Tarantula Pro controller, which is compatible with various gaming platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PCs, and Steam devices. This controller aims to make it easier for gamers to switch between different platforms by allowing customization of both the button layout and labels on the face buttons.

Priced at $69.99, the Tarantula Pro addresses the common issue faced by gamers who own multiple consoles with different button layouts. For example, the Nintendo Switch has a button layout of X, A, B, and Y, while Xbox, Steam Deck, and mobile controllers use a Y, B, A, and X layout. The Tarantula Pro allows users to change the action button labels using a motorized mechanism, making it convenient to switch between different layouts.

The GameSir Connect mobile app enables users to swap the functional layout of the face buttons between Switch and Xbox modes based on their preference or game compatibility. Additionally, a combination of buttons on the controller activates a motorized mechanism that rearranges the face buttons’ labels. While this feature may not change muscle memory, it serves as a helpful reminder of the button configurations.

Moreover, the Tarantula Pro is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB cable option, and a 2.4GHz dongle to reduce lag. It also includes NFC for Amiibo compatibility with the Switch, rumble feedback, and a built-in gyroscope for motion-based controls in games.

Unlike other controllers that may experience Joy-Con drift, the Tarantula Pro utilizes tunneling magneto-resistance (TMR) sticks for improved sensitivity, accuracy, and power efficiency. The controller offers nine mappable buttons, including an extra pair on the back that can be disabled to prevent accidental presses. Additionally, the Hall effect triggers can be customized to a hair trigger mode for FPS games, enhancing reaction times.

For added customization, the Tarantula Pro features built-in RGB lighting, including accent lights, a glowing home button for waking the Switch, and light-up face buttons. It is available for preorder on GameSir’s website either on its own or as part of a bundle priced at $79.99, which includes a stand that can charge the controller’s 1,200mAh battery.

Overall, the Tarantula Pro offers a versatile and customizable gaming experience for users across different platforms, addressing the need for convenient button layout adjustments and enhancing gameplay with advanced features and functionalities.
