WhatsApp recently released an update for iOS users, introducing a new Home Screen widget tailored to chats. This widget is accessible on the iPhone after updating to version 24.21.81, which was made available this afternoon.
After updating, users can easily add the widget to their Home Screen by utilizing the Edit interface. They have the option to select from Recents, Favorites, Pinned, or Frequently Contacted to quickly access their preferred chats.
In addition to the new widget, WhatsApp has also included support for 0.5x to 3x zoom with the built-in camera. Users can now mention others in their Status by tapping the @ button in the composer.
However, not all users will receive these updates immediately as WhatsApp mentioned that they will be gradually rolled out over the next few weeks.
Aside from WhatsApp updates, there have been other exciting announcements in the tech world. For instance, Apple suppliers are set to commence mass production of the fourth-generation iPhone SE in December. This new model is expected to feature a design similar to the base iPhone 14, including a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a newer A-series chip, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, and 8GB of RAM.
Furthermore, select U.S. states now allow residents to add their driver’s license or state ID to the Wallet app on the iPhone and Apple Watch. This feature provides a convenient and contactless way to display proof of identity or age at certain airports, businesses, and apps.
Apple has also teased upcoming Mac announcements next week, hinting at refreshed Mac products. This indicates that there may not be a dedicated October event for Macs this year, with Apple choosing to reveal new products through other means.
Moreover, Amazon is currently offering the 42mm GPS Apple Watch Series 10 at a new all-time low price on its platform. The sale is specifically available for the Rose Gold Aluminum model, with an expected delivery date of October 28 for most U.S. residents.
In conclusion, the tech world is buzzing with various updates and announcements, promising exciting developments for users of different devices and platforms. Stay tuned for more information and updates on these latest releases.
